4-Part Documentary ‘Sean Combs: The Reckoning,’ Exec. Produced By 50 Cent, Arrives On Netflix Dec. 2
Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and director Alexandria Stapleton have teamed up for a four-part Netflix documentary, Sean Combs: The Reckoning, a deep dive into the rise and downfall of the music mogul. The series examines Combs’ influential career in hip-hop as well as the troubling allegations and legal battles that have reshaped his legacy.
Combs, who helped push Bad Boy Entertainment to the forefront and played a key role in launching stars like The Notorious B.I.G., Mary J. Blige, Jodeci, and Danity Kane, is currently serving a federal sentence after being convicted on two counts related to transportation for purposes of prostitution. He is appealing the ruling. The documentary pulls back the curtain on his path to fame and the darker claims that followed, many of which escalated after Casandra Ventura’s 2023 lawsuit.
Stapleton says Ventura’s decision to come forward sparked her interest in exploring how society handles allegations against powerful figures. She notes that the film is not just about Combs or his accusers, but about the public’s tendency to elevate celebrities beyond accountability. “This story reflects us and how we respond when those we idolize are challenged,” she explains.
Jackson adds that the project aligns with his long-standing commitment to raw, unfiltered storytelling at G-Unit Film & Television. He credits the participants who shared their experiences and praises Stapleton’s leadership in bringing the narrative to life.
Featuring previously unseen material and candid interviews with people once close to Combs, the documentary aims to unpack the empire he built — and the hidden world beneath it.
Sean Combs: The Reckoning premieres on Netflix on December 2. Stay tuned for updates, new interviews, and exclusive coverage.
