Ava DuVernay and David Oyelowo are reuniting on the upcoming thriller Heist of Benin, marking their first feature collaboration since the Oscar-winning Selma. The project was officially unveiled during Studiocanal’s Paris showcase.
Set in present-day London, the film blends suspense with themes of art, romance, and cultural reckoning, centering on restitution and identity within a high-stakes narrative. DuVernay described the project as a meaningful return to creative partnership, while Oyelowo shared that the story finally presented the right opportunity for them to work together again.
Heist of Benin is produced by Steve Richards and Jake Katofsky for Endurance Media, alongside Lisa Bruce and Oyelowo under Yoruba Saxon, with Quiñones serving as executive producer from an original concept. Studiocanal is backing the film and will manage global distribution and sales.

So happy about this news. It's almost like the movie industry has lost its imagination on how to make good movies and not keep doing remakes that aren't good.
I'm just not going to spend my money anymore going to watch mediocre b******* by white people because they don't want to see diversity.
