CBS Unveils Ensemble Cast Photo For Season Two Of Daytime Soap, ‘Beyond The Gates;’ Plans ‘Young & Restless’ Crossover
CBS is setting the stage for a major daytime crossover this summer, bringing together The Young and the Restless and Beyond the Gates for a multi-episode event airing in June. The network confirmed that six familiar faces from Y&R—Eric Braeden, Michael Mealor, Peter Bergman, Susan Walters, Melissa Ordway, and Bryton James—will step into the world of Beyond the Gates as part of the special storyline.
The crossover centers on a high-profile political fundraiser at Fairmont Crest, where longtime allies Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) reunite. Their decades-long relationship, built on political support and business influence, takes center stage as Victor agrees to headline a fundraiser for Vernon’s grandson, Martin (Brandon Claybon). Also in attendance are Kyle Abbott (Mealor), Jack Abbott (Bergman), Diane Jenkins (Walters), Abby Newman (Ordway), and Devon Hamilton (James), whose night takes an unexpected turn after a surprising business proposition—and a shocking incident that upends the entire event.
What makes the crossover especially notable is that the two soaps come from different production studios. Beyond the Gates, which premiered in February 2025, is produced by the CBS Studios/NAACP Venture with P&G Studios, while The Young and the Restless—on the air since 1973—hails from Sony Pictures Television and Bell Dramatic Serial Company. Beyond the Gates airs weekdays at 2 p.m. ET, while Y&R continues its longtime run at 12:30 p.m. ET.
CBS also unveiled a new ensemble cast photo for Beyond the Gates, spotlighting stars including Tamara Tunie, Clifton Davis, Karla Mosley, Daphnee Duplaix, Brandon Claybon, and Najah Jackson, among others—just as the series gears up for one of its biggest moments yet.
