Corey Hawkins has signed on to co-star opposite Mila Kunis in Nightwatching, a new thriller adapted from Tracy Sierra’s breakout debut novel. The film is directed by Adam Schindler and Brian Netto, with a screenplay originally written by Laura Moss and Brendan J. O’Brien and later revised by TJ Cimfel and David White. Hawkins will play the police officer leading the investigation into a chilling home invasion at the center of the story.
Set during a brutal winter storm, Nightwatching follows a mother whose quiet night spirals into terror when an intruder breaks into her home, forcing her into a desperate fight to protect her children. The novel, a Spring 2024 Jimmy Fallon Book Club pick, has been praised for its claustrophobic tension and emotional intensity. Amazon MGM Studios will handle international distribution, with production led by Ridley Scott’s Scott Free alongside Picturestart and Kunis’ Brick for Sheep banner.
The project adds to a busy and high-profile slate for Hawkins. He’ll next appear in Amazon MGM Studios’ Crime 101 with Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, and Barry Keoghan, followed by Christopher Nolan’s epic The Odyssey. Hawkins is also set to star opposite Willem Dafoe in The Man in My Basement, which premiered at TIFF 2025, and recently appeared in Netflix’s The Piano Lesson, directed by Malcolm Washington. Hawkins is represented by WME.
