Essence Black Women in Hollywood remains one of awards season’s most powerful celebrations, spotlighting the Black women whose talent and leadership continue to transform the entertainment industry. This year the annual event is taking a bold step forward by honoring trailblazers while redefining tradition.
Among this year’s honorees is Chase Infiniti, whose award-season momentum includes nominations from the Golden Globes, BAFTA, Critics Choice, and the Actor Awards. Joining her is Emmy winner and Golden Globe and Tony nominee Kerry Washington, recognized for her expansive work in front of and behind the camera. Also being celebrated is LaTanya Richardson Jackson, a Tony and NAACP Image Award nominee whose impact spans acting, directing, producing, and philanthropy. Zinzi Coogler, a Golden Globe winner and Oscar-nominated producer, will be honored for her visionary leadership as the founder of Proximity Media.
In a standout cultural tribute, the Luminary Spotlight Award will recognize The Women of SINNERS, celebrating the film’s record-breaking status as the most Academy Award–nominated film in history. The honor highlights the collective excellence of Autumn Durald Arkapaw, Hannah Beachler, Jayme Lawson, Ruth E. Carter, Shunika Terry-Jennings, and Wunmi Mosaku.
As Hollywood continues to evolve, ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood serves as a reminder that while the industry creates stories, Black women are shaping what comes next.
