Lionsgate has debuted the first trailer for Michael, the highly anticipated biopic chronicling the rise of Michael Jackson. The film stars Jackson’s real-life nephew, Jaafar Jackson, stepping into the role of the iconic performer, with Antoine Fuqua directing.
The trailer offers a glimpse into Jackson’s creative world, including scenes with legendary producer Quincy Jones, portrayed by Kendrick Sampson. Classic hits like Thriller and Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ soundtrack the preview, highlighting the era-defining moments that shaped Jackson’s legacy.
Michael aims to present an intimate look at the artist’s path to global superstardom and the lasting cultural influence that made him the King of Pop. The cast also features Miles Teller as attorney John Branca, Colman Domingo as Joe Jackson, Nia Long as Katherine Jackson, Jessica Sula as LaToya Jackson, Larenz Tate as Berry Gordy, Laura Harrier as Suzanne de Passe, and Kat Graham as Diana Ross.





Michael is set to hit theaters on April 24, 2026. While rumors have circulated about potential release delays and even suggestions of a two-part rollout, no additional details were confirmed.
