Halle Berry Sets Ambitious Film & TV Slate With HalleHolly, Including ‘The President Is Missing’ and New Peacock Series, ‘Bad Cop, Bad Cop’
Halle Berry and longtime collaborator Holly Jeter are doubling down on bold storytelling through their production banner, HalleHolly, with a growing slate of film and television projects—most of which Berry is also set to headline.
On the film side, Berry is attached to star in The President Is Missing, Apple Original Films’ adaptation of the bestselling political thriller by Bill Clinton and James Patterson. The project reimagines the story with Berry as President Joanna Duncan, a commander-in-chief forced to go rogue to stop a catastrophic attack. Also in development is Bad Cop, Bad Cop, a Kay Cannon–directed action comedy where Berry plays a no-nonsense detective paired with two wildly unprepared beat cops, portrayed by Fortune Feimster and Jillian Bell.
Additional features include Sunburn, a neo-noir psychological thriller based on Laura Lippman’s novel and directed by Liz Garbus; Family Swap, a body-swapping comedy adapted from the French hit Le Sens de la famille with Jason Moore directing; and Parole Officer, a dark thriller from a Black List script in which Berry plays a manipulative parole officer with a dangerous agenda. HalleHolly is also adapting Cathy Byrd’s memoir The Boy Who Knew Too Much, centered on a young boy who believes he lived a past life as baseball legend Lou Gehrig.
On the television front, Berry is set to star in Zero F**s*, a menopause-focused comedy in development at Peacock that follows three middle-aged friends entangled in a murder mystery. She’s also attached to HBO’s The Patient, a psychological horror series based on the viral novella about a psychiatrist whose most infamous patient may be far more dangerous than she seems. Another potential TV project is Mother Doom, an FX revenge drama about a retired Special Forces operative pulled back into action after her son’s death.
HalleHolly’s recent and upcoming productions include the 2024 survival thriller Never Let Go and the feature Fleur, which begins filming in Paris this spring. Several projects—Sunburn, Family Swap, and Bad Cop, Bad Cop—are expected to head to the marketplace soon.
Founded in 2022, HalleHolly was created with a clear mission: to develop film and TV led by layered characters, spark real conversations, and expand representation both on screen and behind the scenes. With this ambitious slate, Berry and Jeter are making it clear they’re just getting started.
