Hulu Greenlights ‘The X-Files’ Pilot; Ryan Coogler Set to Write & Direct, Danielle Deadwyler to Lead

Hulu has officially greenlit a pilot for a highly anticipated ‘The X-Files’ reboot, with Danielle Deadwyler set to star.

The Onyx Collective series, which updates the classic sci-fi franchise, follows “two highly decorated but vastly different FBI agents [who] form an unlikely bond when they are assigned to a long-shuttered division devoted to cases involving unexplained phenomena.”

Ryan Coogler is attached to write and direct the pilot, while Jennifer Yale serves as showrunner and Autumn Durald Arkapaw will rejoin Coogler as Cinematographer. Chris Carter, Sev Ohanian, and Zinzi Coogler are executive producers on the project.
