iKon Media & Films has released the official trailer for Stew Peas, a suspense-driven feature film rooted in Jamaican culture and crafted for a global audience. The film is a slow-burn domestic thriller that explores the consequences of buried truths, moral compromise, and the quiet pressures that fracture families.
Directed by award-winning filmmaker Sosiessia Nixon-Kelly, Stew Peas delivers an intimate yet gripping story that blends cultural specificity with universal themes. Set in Jamaica, the film uses tension, restraint, and character-driven storytelling to build toward devastating emotional stakes.
Alongside today’s trailer release, the producers confirmed that Stew Peas is slated to premiere in Jamaica on June 27, 2026, with international festival and distribution plans currently underway. While final exhibition details are still being finalized, the film has already begun attracting international attention through its partnership with FilmWorks Global.

The film stars Kerry-Ann “Chiney-K” Collins, a prominent media personality and social media influencer with a global following, alongside Tarique Barrett, Mr. World Caribbean 2024. Supporting performances include Quera South, who previously starred in Sprinter—a film that screened at major international festivals—and Shernet Swearine, a recurring performer in HBO’s Get Millie Black.
Stew Peas represents a bold step forward for contemporary Caribbean cinema, offering a story that is unapologetically authentic while remaining accessible to audiences worldwide. With its restrained tension, cultural grounding, and international outlook, the film is positioned to resonate across borders and platforms.
