Emmy-nominated creator and producer Issa Rae has signed a three-year first-look deal with Paramount to develop film and television projects. The agreement marks a new chapter for Rae, who previously held a major overall deal at WarnerMedia, where she helped launch series like A Black Lady Sketch Show, Rap Sh!t, and Sweet Life.
Rae will collaborate closely with Paramount’s film and television leadership to develop stories centered on diverse voices and perspectives. In a statement, she shared her excitement about continuing to create community-driven, authentic storytelling with the studio.
Paramount executives praised Rae as a bold and distinctive creative voice whose work consistently resonates with audiences across platforms.
Best known as the creator and star of HBO’s Insecure, Rae has built a strong production footprint through her company Hoorae, backing projects across TV, film, and digital spaces. Her recent acting work includes American Fiction, Barbie, and voice roles in Sony’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse franchise.
Rae joins a growing roster of high-profile talent partnering with Paramount as the studio continues to expand its film and television slate following its merger with Skydance.
