Jodie Turner-Smith has officially joined the cast of Chloe Okuno’s upcoming horror film ‘Brides.’ She joins an ensemble that includes Olivia Cooke, along with newcomers Harry Lawtey, Viola Prettejohn, and Burn Gorman.
The film takes place in 1961 and follows Sally Bishop (Cooke) and her husband as they become stranded at a remote villa during a trip to Northern Italy. There, they meet a man named Vova (Lawtey) who oversees a house of beautiful, immortal women (Turner-Smith and Prettejohn) and their caretaker (Gorman). As Sally gets caught up in their dark, seductive, and illusion-filled world, she slowly begins to lose her sense of time and self as her own transformation unfolds.
Okuno, who also wrote the script, is set to direct the film. Anthony Bregman, Stefanie Azpiazu, and Greg Zuk are producing for Likely Story. Neon, which boarded the project last year, will distribute the film, with financing provided by Manor Kill Media. Focus International will handle the international release, with FilmNation managing select territories.
