John Cena, Teyonah Parris, Sam Richardson, Arturo Castro, and Danai Gurira Star In ‘Matchbox: The Movie’ Oct. 9 On Apple TV
Apple TV is set to release the action comedy ‘Matchbox: The Movie’ on October 9, starring John Cena, Teyonah Parris, Sam Richardson, and Arturo Castro in a turbocharged adventure inspired by the Matchbox toy brand.
The film follows Sean (Cena), a CIA agent and former soldier who reunites with his childhood friends in their small town after a successful mission. In a hilarious and disastrous turn of events, the group is kidnapped and framed, launching Sean and his crew into a frantic, globe-trotting race to save the world and clear their names.
The ensemble cast also includes Danai Gurira, Jessica Biel, Corey Stoll, Bill Camp, and Golshifteh Farahani.
‘Matchbox: The Movie’ is directed and executive produced by Sam Hargrave from a script by David Coggeshall. Producers include Jules Daly, alongside David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger for Skydance, with Robbie Brenner and Ynon Kreiz producing through Mattel Films. Patrick Newall and Elizabeth Bassin serve as executive producers.
