Kingsley Ben-Adir, Archie Madekwe, and Alex Descas are set to lead the new drama ‘The Arrival,’ from first-time director Bijan Sheibani. They will star alongside co-lead Joanna Scanlan.
The film is an adaptation of the Sheibani’s 2019 play of the same name and centers on estranged brothers Tom (Ben-Adir) and Raheem (Madekwe), who reunite as adults after Tom was given up for adoption in infancy. The story explores the complex ways shared family history brings them together, while uncomfortable truths from the past complicate their reunion as they uncover why their parents (Scanlan and Descas) chose to put one brother up for adoption.
‘The Arrival’ is written and directed by Sheibani, with Tessa Ross, Juliette Howell, and Theo Barrowclough producing for House Productions. Michael Fassbender, Daniel Emmerson, and Conor McCaughan also serve as producers for DMC Film. Nell Green produces, with David Kimbangi (Film4) and Ama Ampadu (BFI) executive producing.
