Academy Award nominee LaKeith Stanfield is set to portray the NBA legend and Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman in Lionsgate’s upcoming comedy ‘48 Hours in Vegas.’
The film chronicles Rodman’s infamous trip to Las Vegas during the 1998 NBA finals when the Chicago Bulls were on the verge of completing their second consecutive three-peat championship in eight years.
The original draft of ‘48 Hours in Vegas’ was written by Jordan VanDina, while Rick Famuyiwa is writing the second draft and will also direct. Phil Lord, Chris Miller, and Aditya Sood are producing via Lord Miller Productions. Executive producers include Ari Lubet, Dennis Rodman, and Lucy Kitada, with Nikki Baida serving as co-producer. Meredith Wieck and Pavan Kalidindi are overseeing the project for Lionsgate. Robert Melnik negotiated the deals on the studio’s behalf.
With Dennis “The Worm” Rodman being one of the most eclectic and spontaneous players in the league’s history, his larger-than-life persona has fans excited to see Stanfield deliver what could be one of his best comedic performances yet.
