Lena Waithe To Make Her Playwriting Debut With ‘Trinity’ At Baltimore Center Stage In February
A bold, intimate, and genre-defying exploration of love, humanity, and the power of imagination.
Lena Waithe is stepping onto the stage in a new way with her playwriting debut, Trinity, set to premiere at Baltimore Center Stage this February.
The play centers on three characters played by Waithe, Courtney Sauls, and Megalyn Echikunwoke, confined to a single space, drifting between imagination and reality as they explore the lives and emotions they struggle to face head-on. What starts as lighthearted role-play gradually reveals deeper themes of desire, intimacy, and unresolved emotional history.
Directed by Baltimore Center Stage Artistic Director Stevie Walker-Webb, Trinity blends humor with introspection, offering an intimate and emotionally layered experience that reflects Waithe’s signature ability to tap into honest human connection.
