Lil Rel Howery, Rotimi, Aspen Kennedy And Ashley Olivia Fisher Star In Modern Faith-Based Drama ‘God With Us’
Lil Rel Howery, Ashley Olivia Fisher, Rotimi, and Aspen Kennedy are set to star in God With Us, a new faith-based drama from filmmaker Jimmy Jenkins. The film reimagines the Nativity story through the lens of modern Black America, unfolding in an urban Maryland neighborhood where faith and miracles collide in unexpected ways.
In this contemporary retelling, Mary Anne Thomas and her boyfriend Joseph “Junie” Love face disbelief and danger after discovering Mary is miraculously pregnant despite never being with a man. Their love and faith are tested as their community seeks hope amid uncertainty.
The film also features Ashley Rios, Gregory Alan Williams, Clifton Powell, and Roger Guenveur Smith. Jenkins, who wrote and directed the project, collaborated with his brother Joshua Jenkins and father Pastor John K. Jenkins Sr. to bring the story to life. It is produced by Asante and Jasmine White under PBG Productions, with additional producers Kellon Akeem, Dan Bowie, and Josh Jenkins.
Executive producers include Mike Locksley, Pastor John K. Jenkins Sr., Lil Rel Howery, Rotimi, Jimmy Jenkins, and Superba’s Jeff Rubin and Graham Shuler. Casting was handled by Rhavynn Drummer and Tiffany Williams of RAD Media Studios.
Jenkins shared, “There haven’t been many faith-based films that authentically speak to urban America. I hope this modern-day Nativity resonates with audiences and reminds them that miracles can still happen.”
God With Us recently wrapped production and aims to deliver a powerful story of faith, love, and divine purpose.
