Michael B. Jordan Accepts Icon Award At The 2026 Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards
On January 3, Michael B. Jordan accepted the Icon Award at the 37th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards, held at the Palm Springs Convention Center.
Jordan was recognized for his extraordinary dual performance as Smoke and Stack in Ryan Coogler’s ‘Sinners,’ portraying twin brothers navigating survival, love, loss, racism, and supernatural threats in the Mississippi Delta.
During his acceptance speech, Jordan acknowledged the film’s personal impact on him, saying, “This movie brought me closer together to my own family history…The film connected me to my grandparents who grew up and lived through the Jim Crow era, and for the first time, I could see and feel what their lives were like. This is my tribute to their courage.”
Congratulations to Michael B. Jordan on winning the Icon Award and for bringing this rich Black Southern history to life onscreen through his performance.
