Michael B. Jordan Wins Actor Award For Outstanding Performance By A Male Actor In A Leading Role
Michael B. Jordan took home the Actor Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for his dual performance in ‘Sinners,’ with the honor presented by Viola Davis.
As his name was announced, the room erupted in applause, and the first-time Oscar nominee received a standing ovation from fellow actors and industry peers.
Taking the stage to accept the honor, Jordan offered an emotional reflection on the journey that led him there. “I’m so honored and privileged to be nominated in categories with people—actors and humans—that I love. This ride has been unbelievable. So thank you for welcoming me and making me feel seen.” He also expressed gratitude to director Ryan Coogler, saying, “Thank you, Ryan Coogler, for giving me the opportunity to show what I can do, to be fearless, and to create a safe space for us to find truth.”
With the win, Jordan joins Chadwick Boseman, Will Smith, Denzel Washington, Jamie Foxx, and Forest Whitaker as one of the only Black male actors to receive the honor in the award’s history—marking a defining moment in his already acclaimed awards season run.
From all of us at TheBlkScript, congratulations to Michael B. Jordan on this well-deserved achievement!
