Michelle Buteau To Star Opposite Zooey Deschanel In New Comedy ‘Heather Of The Valley’
NAACP Image Award winner Michelle Buteau is gearing up to star opposite Zooey Deschanel in a new female buddy comedy, ‘Heather Of The Valley.’
Buteau takes on the role of an overwhelmed suburban mom who survives on sarcasm, guilty pleasures, the optimism of her awkward best friend and former high school classmate (Deschanel), and their shared love for the hit TV show, ‘Scotlander.’ When the duo is suddenly transported from the San Fernando Valley to 18th-century Scotland, they are forced to use their modern-day sass and pop culture dance routines to survive hilarious sword fights and scheming aristocrats.
‘Heather Of The Valley’ is written by Kate Spurgeon and directed by Sheri Elwood. Elevation Pictures and Who’s On First are producing the film, which will begin production in Spring 2026 in Scotland.
