Nate Parker And David Oyelowo Strike Exclusive Partnership With AMC To Release Psychological Thriller 'Newborn' In Theaters Nationwide

Nate Parker and David Oyelowo are bringing their long-awaited psychological thriller Newborn to the big screen. The film will receive an exclusive theatrical release at AMC Theatres on April 10.

Starring Oyelowo alongside Olivia Washington, Barry Pepper, and Jimmie Fails, Newborn centers on a man attempting to reclaim his life after seven years in solitary confinement, only to discover that freedom brings its own mental and emotional dangers. Parker directs and co-writes the film, which is produced by Oyelowo through Yoruba Saxon with Aaron L. Gilbert and Christina Lee Storm.

Previously titled Solitary, the film was shot in 2020 and remained unreleased amid pandemic delays and a difficult indie distribution climate. AMC’s commitment marks a major turning point, positioning Newborn as a theatrical-first experience designed for audiences to engage with the story together on the big screen.
