Queen Latifah And Taraji P. Henson Sign New Movie Deals With Lifetime
The actresses will develop original films for the network through their respective production companies as Lifetime expands partnerships with established talent.
NEW YORK — Queen Latifah and Taraji P. Henson are expanding their work behind the camera through new partnerships with Lifetime to develop upcoming original films.
The network announced that Queen Latifah will executive produce three projects through her production company, Flavor Unit Entertainment. Henson will develop and executive produce two films through her banner, TPH Entertainment.
The deals are part of Lifetime’s ongoing strategy to collaborate with high-profile actors and producers while continuing to build a slate of female-centered storytelling. The network has long positioned its original movies around narratives focused on women’s experiences, often working with established talent both in front of and behind the camera.
Both actresses have increasingly expanded their careers into producing. Queen Latifah has helped develop multiple television and film projects through Flavor Unit Entertainment, while Henson launched TPH Entertainment to create projects that reflect a wider range of voices and perspectives in the industry.
Executives at A+E Global Media, Lifetime’s parent company, announced the partnerships while outlining upcoming programming initiatives and creative collaborations across the network’s film slate.
The deals also reflect a broader trend across Hollywood, where actors are launching production companies and taking on producing roles to shape the stories being developed for film and television.
Additional details about casting, production timelines and release dates for the upcoming films have not yet been announced.
