Regina King has been announced as the ambassador for the 30th anniversary of the American Black Film Festival (ABFF). The Oscar, Golden Globe, and Emmy-winning actor, director, and producer will help lead the celebration, which takes place in Miami Beach from May 27–31 under the theme “The Homecoming.”
As ambassador, King will greet attendees during the festival’s opening night and take part in a “Creator Conversation,” where she’ll discuss her acclaimed career and the festival’s role in elevating Black storytellers in film and television. Her connection to ABFF dates back to its early days in 1997, when it debuted as the Acapulco Black Film Festival—making her return a full-circle moment for one of the industry’s most celebrated talents.
