Riele Downs, Keith David, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Karen LeBlanc, And Evan Ellison Star In New Drama, ‘Dreams Of The Moon’

Alfons Adetuyi’s upcoming project, ‘Dreams of the Moon,’ is gearing up to be a heartfelt and star-studded affair. The new drama will feature Riele Downs, Keith David, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Karen LeBlanc, and Evan Ellison.

The film is inspired by the 1971 Apollo 16 training mission in Northern Ontario and takes place in the wake of the space race, amidst the infamous Watergate scandal and the 1970s women’s liberation movement. The story centers on an aspiring young Black girl named Lucy (Downs), whose dream of becoming an astronaut is brought to life when she witnesses NASA astronauts descending on a Canadian mining town.

‘Dreams of the Moon’ is co-written by Adetuyi and Dennis Foon, with Adetuyi also directing. Inner City Films Production is producing the project alongside co-producers Sidney Chiu and Horace Rayners. Executive producers include Cora Tonno and Lisa Di Michele. The film will be distributed in Canada by Elevation Pictures.
