According to Dread Central, Scary Movie 6 will take aim at several major horror hits, including the critically acclaimed Sinners from Ryan Coogler, Weapons directed by Zach Cregger, and A Quiet Place. The franchise is known for pushing boundaries, and early reports suggest these films will be central targets of the sequel’s signature satire.
Franchise creators Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, and Keenen Ivory Wayans have reunited to write the script alongside longtime collaborator Rick Alvarez, who also serves as producer. Marlon previously stated the new installment will maintain the franchise’s fearless comedic approach, promising to lampoon everyone equally in the name of comedy.
Sources also indicate the Sinners parody could include provocative imagery, though it remains unclear if those scenes will appear in the final version. The first trailer is expected to debut this Friday, offering audiences a glimpse at how far the sequel will go.
The film features a large ensemble cast, including returning favorites Regina Hall, Anna Faris, Lochlyn Monroe, Dave Sheridan, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, and Jon Abrahams, alongside new additions such as Damon Wayans Jr., Kim Wayans, and Heidi Gardner.
Paramount Pictures will release Scary Movie 6 in theaters nationwide on June 12, 2026.
