Colman Domingo and Myha’la star in ‘Dead Man’s Wire,’ the upcoming historical crime drama from director Gus Van Sant that chronicles the infamous 1977 Tony Kiritsis case.
The film, written by Austin Kolodney, retells the harrowing incident in which Kiritsis (played by Bill Skarsgård), a former real estate developer, took Indianapolis mortgage broker Dick Hall (played by Dacre Montgomery) hostage after believing he had been wronged. Kiritsis secured Hall with a steel wire attached to the barrel of a sawed-off double-barrel shotgun and demanded $5 million and a public apology, resulting in a real-life standoff that captured national attention.
Colman Domingo stars as Fred Temple, a well-known local radio host who becomes an improvised negotiator during the crisis, while Myha’la appears as Linda Page, a reporter covering the unfolding events.

The ensemble cast also includes Al Pacino, Cary Elwes, Vinh Nguyen, Daniel R. Hill, Mark Helms, John Robinson, Neil Mulac, Jordan Claire Robbins, Stephanie Bertoni, John N. Dixon, Todd Gable, and Michael Ashcraft.
‘Dead Man’s Wire’ is produced by Cassian Elwes, Tom Culliver, Joel David Moore, and Domingo’s Edith Productions, with executive producers Rishi Bajaj, Ryan Bartecki, and Lily Blavin. The film will be distributed by Row K Entertainment and is set for a theatrical release in January 2026.
