‘Sinners’ Makes Oscars History With Most Nominations Ever For A Single Film With 16 Total Nods
Congratulations are in order for the cast and crew of ‘Sinners,’ who have just made Oscars History, breaking the record for the most nominations ever received by a single film, with 16 total nominations.
The film has earned Academy Award nominations in the following categories: Best Picture (Ryan Coogler, Zinzi Coogler, and Sev Ohanian), Best Director, Best Lead Actor (Michael B. Jordan), Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects, Best Sound, Best Editing, Best Production Design, Best Original Song (“I Lied to You”), Best Costume Design, Best Casting, Best Supporting Actor (Delroy Lindo), Best Supporting Actress (Wunmi Mosaku), Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Original Score, and Best Original Screenplay.
These nominations also mark first-time Oscar nods for Michael B. Jordan, Delroy Lindo, Wunmi Mosaku, Ryan Coogler (Best Director and Best Screenplay), Zinzi Coogler, and Sev Ohanian.
The 98th Academy Awards will air live on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on ABC and stream on Hulu.
